The Lifesaving Society in Canada celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008.  While the Newfoundland branch history doesn’t stretch back quite that far yet, it does have a significant history going back to pre-Confederation.  Individuals have contributed in large and small ways over the years to make the Society what it is today – strong and proud of its history and its ability to save lives through drowning prevention programming and education.

Honorary Membership consists of individuals who have made significant contribution to the history and mandate of the Lifesaving Society and may be Honorary Members, Life Members, Patrons, Officers or Life Officers.
