You earn "instructor" certifications by successfully
completing the course. This means you are fully certified
at that instructor level at the end of the course. The Lifesaving
Society offers the following instructor certifications:
A National Lifeguard has taken a minimum of 100 hours
of training. The National Lifeguard course itself is about
40-hours long and there are prerequisites (Bronze
Medallion, Bronze Cross, and Standard First Aid).
